taking one of my photographs ever…

There are days when I just think, do I really need to bring my camera? Especially when I am going to places I have been a million times before and normally consider “boring” to shoot. But, this past Easter Bank Holiday Weekend proved to me exactly why I should always take my camera with me.

I have visited this beach a million times over the last few years and every time, I always come away with a pretty empty camera role. There is nothing of significance there and it doesnt really tie into my normal genre of street photography, so I am guilt “forgetting” my camera more times that not.

The weather was really hit a miss and I am always wary of bringing my camera out in those conditions but something in me, told me to take.

And boy am I glad I did!

This is probably one of my favourite photographs that I have ever taken.

The contrast of the bright sand and the Lifeguards hut against the violence and darkness of the clouds creates this real story of two sides that seems to resonate with viewer. Even the water can be deemed moody and if not noticed straight away could be forgive for being mistaken as the sand.

There havent been many images that I have taken over the years that have compelled me quite as much as this one, to get it printed at scale and hang it in my own home.

I think might some prints of this one.

What do you guys think?
