Wembley stadium is something else…

If you don’t know me personally, you may not know that I actually played at a very high level of football, growing up. From 15-23 I played for some of the biggest teams in the UK (Arsenal, Watford, I represented my county etc) and I can honestly say, we could only ever have dreamt to have played a game at our national stadium, Wembley Stadium!

When I played, we were lucky to get a handful of people to watch and normally they were parents who had no choice as they brought the player to the game. So to see 62,000 people in this stadium to support our Lionesses was something extremely special to witness.

The ladies walked away 1-0 winners but I nearly didnt make it into the stadium to see it. On my way into the stadium with my camera around my neck, I was stopped and informed that because my camera had a detachable lens, it would not be permitted into the stadium. They proceeded to call a supervisor to confirm.

Lucky for me (and if you ever read this, thank you ) one of the stewards told me to put it in my bag and go before the supervisor appeared. So that’s what I did. As you can imagine, because of this, I did not get nearly as many images as I would have liked but I am really happy with what I did manage to get.
